The online giant, Amazon with a settlement done with Federal Trade Commission (an independent agency of the United States government for protection of consumers right) has started refunding the money for the unauthorised orders made in the form of in-app purchases.The orders which were made by kids on the Amazon app store have started being refunded by Amazon.According to Federal Trade Commission, the app allows the transaction of up to $99 without enquiring anything about the password, this allowed kids to make hundreds of transaction which seemed to cost less than $99 but the huge transaction numbers initiated huge loss for parents."Amazon didn’t require a password for in-app purchases, which allowed children to spend hundreds of dollars playing “free” games by buying virtual goods—like coins, stars, and pet food—without their parents’ permission. A federal court found Amazon liable for these charges and ordered the company to provide refunds."- Federal Trade Commission.
